Samsung launches 2023 wind-free air conditioner

South Korea's electronics giant Samsung Electronics Co. has released a lineup of new air conditioners that consume less energy.

At the "New Air Solution Product Presentation" held on Thursday, Samsung unveiled the latest version of Bespoke brand air conditioners in three categories: gallery (premium), classic (high-end), and slim (normal).

The wind-free air conditioner emits cold air through 270,000 small holes (wind-free microholes) in the front of all products, and the new product has added 1,500 more holes in the front to strengthen the wind-free feature.

All the wind-free air conditioner gallery models have obtained energy consumption efficiency grades 1 to 2.

In particular, what attracts attention is the energy-specialized model, which doubles the heat transfer area of outdoor heat exchangers compared to existing products and applied high-efficiency motors to improve cooling efficiency by 10% compared to the first-grade energy efficiency.

"The domestic demand for air conditioners is usually estimated at 2 to 2.5 million units in a year," said Choi Young-joon, vice president of Samsung Electronics’ home appliance division. "Given air conditioners are now must-have items for every household beyond the hot summer months, we expect this year's demand to be at least average."

"It is true that the air quality has improved a lot, but there is continuous consumer demand for cleaner air as we went through the COVID-19 era. We expect that this year's demand for air purifiers will be as good as previous years and we will undertake more marketing activities than before," he added.
