LS E-Link partners with Logen to boost EV charging

LS E-Link, a new corporation of South Korea's LS Group that specializes in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and operation, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Logen Co., a leading courier company in Korea.

The two companies announced on March 21 that they will cooperate to create an eco-friendly logistics environment by converting Logen’s fleet to EVs and establishing customized smart power infrastructure in its logistics hubs across the country.

LS E-Link was established in 2022 through a joint investment between LS Corp. and E1 Corp., an energy company under LS Group. The company aims to provide comprehensive solutions for EV charging, from installation and maintenance to management and billing.

Kim Dae-geun, CEO of LS E-Link, said that the company is working on various projects to secure specialized business models for large logistics and transportation companies. “We will expand the construction of EV charging infrastructure by providing customized solutions to Logen delivery logistics hubs located in 350 regions nationwide,” he said.

Logen is the only one in the courier industry that has created its own EV fund and is actively pushing for the conversion of electric courier cars by providing subsidies of about 15% of the vehicle price to courier drivers who replace old diesel cars with eco-friendly ones from Nov. 2021.

LS Group is expanding related businesses by targeting the overall EV parts and charging business as future growth engines. The group expects that the demand for stable and efficient operation of the power system will increase as the power usage of unit charging stations increases in line with the conversion speed of EVs.
