Naver Whalebook supply volume triples in 2023

South Korea's Naver Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Naver Corp., announced on Friday that the distribution volume of Whalebook has tripled compared to the previous year.

Launched in 2021, Whalebook is an educational device based on the proprietary Whale OS.

It is optimized for various learning activities, including class management, screen annotations, and comes equipped with solutions like the education platform Whale Space, Naver Works, and Polaris Office, among others.

The Whalebook Keyboard features a Clova AI activation button and a dedicated key for Naver search. The device also comes with a Digital Pen designed specifically for the Whalebook touch display.

This year, Whalebook added a remote control feature to its class management function. This allows instructors to monitor students' screens in real-time, share necessary materials, and remotely control the devices of students who need assistance.

The upcoming focus mode feature is set to be introduced in the next semester. With focus mode, students can only access websites specified by the instructor during class time.

Naver Cloud has been providing around 22,000 Whalebook and Whale Space packages to 725 primary, middle, and high schools across Mongolia, as well as those in Korea, starting from December this year.
