KT DS, an IT service arm of South Korea's KT Group, said on Thursday that its Internet-of-Things (IoT) solution Smart-X has passed the oneM2M certification test of the Global Certification Forum (GCF), a European mobile communications certification body.
OneM2M is a global standardization organization jointly established by eight standard development organizations across the world for IoT platform standardization.
Smart-X is a control-specialized IoT solution developed in-house by KT DS in 2020. It implements an integrated intelligent smart control service that combines advanced ICT functionalities such as artificial intelligence, digital twin, and big data with various IoT devices.
As various IoT devices can be easily connected in the field through Smart-X, it is possible to reduce the business setup time related to object-to-object communication and increase cost efficiency.
"With the securing of the international certification, our IoT technology capabilities have been verified and the scope of the business has expanded, so we will accelerate creating new business opportunities and increase orders in the IoT area," said Son Seung-hye, head of KT DS's digital transformation business division.
