The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Thursday to improve efficiency and working conditions in the food service industry.
The initiative follows a comprehensive analysis conducted by both companies in January, where they categorized the entire food service process.
This preliminary work facilitated the identification of specific tasks that could benefit from automation, setting the stage for targeted improvements.
The joint venture's strategy focuses on deploying robots to streamline operations across several key areas: ingredient pre-processing, menu execution, meal distribution and collection, and the cleaning of kitchenware.
CJ Freshway will provide a testbed for technology verification and establish a future-oriented value chain model.
Hanwha Robotics will develop and produce robot automation systems, overseeing the entire technology verification process.
