South Korea's The Shilla Duty Free announced it partnered with Line Pay Taiwan to attract South Asian tourism on Thursday.
Line Pay is the top mobile payment service provider in Taiwan. The number of local users surpassed 11 million. LinePay is widely used not only in Taiwan but also in Southeast Asia.
The two companies agreed to expand the promotion of LinePay app utilization, develop new channels for The Shilla Duty Free within the app, and provide LinePay Payshop voucher service. Line Pay will open a new The Shilla Duty Free on its Merchant Map, and promote Line Pay Rewards.
Line Pay has solidified its position as the premier mobile payment and remittance platform in the country. This partnership propels The Shilla Duty Free's ambition to diversify its payment methods and intensify promotional activities targeting Southeast Asian tourists, particularly those hailing from Taiwan.
Earlier this year, The Shilla Duty Free took strides to enhance the shopping journey for international customers by forging marketing alliances with BC Card and GLN, an offshoot of Hana Bank. Post this collaboration with Line Pay Taiwan, they anticipate extending their network to other prominent Taiwanese entities, such as KKday and Tigerair Taiwan.
