South Korea's Hana Bank said on Thursday that it opened a branch for foreigners in Pyeongtaek.
The Pyeongtaek Foreign Customer Center, located in Pyeongtaek-dong, Gyeonggi Province, aims to improve banking accessibility for multinational communities in southern Gyeonggi areas such as Pyeongtaek, Hwaseong, and Anseong, the bank said in a statement.
The new branch offers several key features, including an AI-based real-time multilingual interpretation system that supports 38 languages, digital banking guidance kiosks, and multilingual document assistance.
The branch is staffed with foreign tellers to help customers feel more comfortable during their banking experience.
Furthermore, the branch has created a dedicated community space for foreigners.
By partnering with local support organizations, Hana Bank plans to use this space as a global community hub for educational programs, and social activities to assist foreigners in their lives in South Korea.
