South Korea's LG Chem Ltd. announced on Monday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KCC Corp. on May 23 to research and develop eco-friendly materials for paint and coatings.
KCC will develop eco-friendly paint products for use in automobiles.
The eco-friendly raw materials supplied by LG Chem are designed to reduce carbon emissions while meeting physical property requirements.
Both companies plan to ensure that the eco-friendly paint maintains physical properties equal to or greater than those of conventional paints and to explore applications in various fields, including automotive coatings.
