South Korea’s chemical and auto parts maker KCC Corp. on Monday said it developed the K-Smart system of using an artificial intelligence (AI)-based design program to complete the color mixing process from combination design in five minutes.
K-Smart mixing analyzes similar colors based on data accumulated by KCC for 50 years, verifies the quality and combines the optimal colors when a client orders paint. This process previously took two to three hours.
The system is usable 24 hours a day on mobile and PC to rapidly match colors and respond quickly to urgent orders.
K-Smart is considered easy to improve by reflecting consumer needs and complaints. KCC is applying the system to industrial, plant and construction products.
