Samsung Electronics Co. has launched the Galaxy C55 5G, a budget-friendly smartphone series designed specifically for the Chinese market, marking the first release of its C series since 2017, industry sources said on Wednesday.
The Galaxy C55 5G, released on Monday, is built on the framework of the Galaxy M55 launched in India.
It featured Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and a 5000mAh battery.
The device features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, offering a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a brightness of 1000 nits.
It also supports 45W fast charging.
Available in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants, the smartphone provides 256GB of internal storage.
A distinctive design element is its rear finish, which comes in either black or orange leather.
The Galaxy C55 5G is priced at 1,999 yuan ($274).
Industry sources said this launch is a significant step for Samsung as it re-enters the Chinese market with the C series, first introduced with the Galaxy C8 in 2017.
