LG Electronics Inc., said on Sunday that it has won a total of 24 awards at the prestigious "Red Dot Design Award."  Among the accolades, LG Electronics claimed one top prize, 20 main prizes and three innovation prizes at this year’s competition.

The top prize was awarded to the "LG OLED Flex," a flexible gaming OLED TV that can bend and unfold the screen on demand, enhancing the atmosphere of gameplay with an emotional mood light behind the screen. This revolutionary design also won an innovation award for its performance, which adjusts the degree of screen curvature in 20 steps.

Since its first release in 2013, the LG OLED TV has consistently won the Red Dot Design Award every year.

In addition to the LG OLED Flex, 20 other products were awarded main prizes, including the "Dios Objet Collection Mood Up" which enables users to change the color of their refrigerator using the ThinQ app, and the "Whisen Objet Collection Edge," which minimizes the protrusion of air conditioners into windows.

LG Electronics was also awarded two innovation prizes. The first was for their premium shoe care solution, the "LG Styler ShoeCase ShoeCare," which was directly tested by LG Electronics’ customer advisory group "L-UP." The second innovation award was given for the "Puricare Aero Furniture," a new concept table-type air purifier.

The Red Dot Design Award is considered one of the world’s top-three design awards alongside the "iF Design Award" and "IDEA." This year, more than 20,000 products from 51 countries were submitted for all categories, making for a fiercely competitive event.

“This achievement is significant in that it recognizes the customer value created by reflecting customer voices,” said Hwang Sung-geol, executive director and head of LG Electronics’ Design Management Center. “We will continue to provide LG’s unique customer experience through a deep and delicate understanding of our customers.”
