Major South Korean power plant builder Doosan Enerbility Co. announced on Wednesday that it has started promoting its nuclear power and gas turbine technology at Powergen International 2023, the world's largest energy and power exhibition.

It is held at The Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, between Feb. 21 and 23. NuScale Power's CTO will deliver a keynote speech, and eight nuclear power-related conferences will also be held.

On the first day of the exhibition Tuesday, Doosan Enerbility invited domestic and international customers to the Doosan Decarbonization Conference and presented the current status and roadmap of gas turbine development, as well as the development outcomes of hydrogen-enriched turbine combustion and pure hydrogen turbine combustion technologies.

In addition, the nuclear power plant's main equipment production capabilities, nuclear product service performance at home and abroad, and strengths and current status as a small module reactor (SMR) manufacturer were introduced.

On the same day, Vice President Kim Jeong-gwan, head of Doosan Enerbility's Marketing Division, met Dr. Jose Reyes, co-founder and CTO of NuScale Power, to discuss trends in the global SMR market and ways to cooperate with each other.

"At this exhibition, we were able to confirm the growing interest in carbon-reducing power generation technologies such as nuclear power and gas turbines," said Vice President Kim Jeong-gwan. "We will actively promote our company's power generation technologies and project execution capabilities."
