Hyundai's IONIQ 5 named Best Electric Vehicle of 2023 in US

Cars.com, a US automobile evaluation website, named the Hyundai Motor Co.'s IONIQ 5 as the Best Electric Vehicle of 2023 on Tuesday.

According to Hyundai Motor's US sales corporation HMA, the IONIQ 5 was selected as No. 1 out of three finalist electric vehicles, including the Chevrolet Bolt EV and the Ford F-150 Lightning.

Jennifer Newman, editor-in-chief at Cars.com praised the IONIQ 5 for its ease of use and spacious interior.

"The IONIQ 5 is easy to drive with familiar controls that don’t require a steep learning curve; it has a spacious and airy interior that’s big enough for family duty," said Newman.

She also highlighted the fast-charging functions and ample mileage as advantages, saying, "The IONIQ 5 is a well-rounded all-electric SUV that’s a great choice for first-time EV shoppers looking to make the jump into EV ownership as well as experienced EV drivers looking for their next vehicle."

In addition, Cars.com selected Kia Corp.'s Niro hybrid vehicle (HEV) as the Best Car and the Carnival as the Best Family Car.
