Samsung, LG Elec target N.American air conditioner market at trade show

Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. are vying for the North American market for air conditioners with their cutting-edge solutions in the sector.

Both companies on Monday said they are exhibiting through Wednesday their high-efficiency air conditioning solutions at the continent's largest related trade show AHR Expo in Atlanta.

Samsung Electronics is using an exhibition booth of 330 square meters and LG Electronics one covering 630 to display new commercial solutions for air conditioning and system air conditioners, as well as wall-mounted and cassette-type or ceiling-mounted indoor wind-free devices.

The leading item of Samsung Electronics at the event is the Samsung DVM (digital variable multi) Hydro unit, which can supply hot water up to 80 degrees Celsius as well as provide cooling and heating when connected to the outdoor unit of a DVM system air conditioner. Its efficiency stems from its application of refrigerant used for cooling and heating to heat water.

Samsung Electronics also introduced DVM S2 Max Heat, a high-efficiency system air conditioner with higher cooling and heating performance and artificial intelligence (AI) functions. The machine is capable of 100% heating even in extreme cold of minus 25 degrees Celsius.

LG Electronics is showing its new commercial system air conditioner Multi V i, which automatically controls multiple indoor units in one space through a high-performance AI engine to maintain uniform temperature throughout the space. Another of the company's featured items is an air conditioning system for outdoor air with dehumidification, cooling and heating functions in a commercial ventilation system.

The company's compressor that uses an eco-friendly refrigerant is shown at the expo's exhibition hall for component solutions.
