HD Hyundai Infracore opens online excavator store

South Korea's HD Hyundai Infracore Co. announced on Thursday that it has opened the first "Develon Online Store," an excavator online mall in the construction machinery industry. The store will sell the first electric excavator, the 1.7-ton Develon, as its inaugural product.

With the Develon Online Store, customers can conveniently purchase excavators online without visiting a dealership. They can handle the entire process online, including electronic purchase contracts, online payment of deposits and balances and even applying for government subsidies. Additionally, customers can apply for installment financing through financing companies.

This electric excavator is equipped with a self-developed battery pack and a high-performance motor. The battery cells are from LG Energy Solution Ltd., and it requires lower maintenance costs as consumables such as engine oil and filters do not need replacement.

It performs on par with same-class equipment powered by internal combustion engines and is designed for compact and tight urban operations due to its small turning radius.

"While some companies have accepted pre-online reservations, this is the world's first time that the entire purchasing process is conducted online," a company source said.
