HD Hyundai Infracore uses AR to service Develon construction equipment

South Korea's construction equipment and engine maker HD Hyundai Infracore Co. on Wednesday said its new augmented reality (AR) guidance app easily diagnoses and repairs problems in its machines.

Through AR technology, the app intuitively inspects construction equipment of the company's Develon brand.

The app uses AR technology in 3D modeling data of equipment and information collected from component sensors to visually check equipment status in a way easy to understand.

The guidance function supports diagnostic data according to equipment failure codes, sensor monitoring information and trial operation guide. The model viewer function shows the locations and names of major parts usable for remote diagnosis and maintenance of equipment.

The app is usable with select Develon construction equipment sold in North America and Europe like the DD100 bulldozer, DX35Z-7 mini excavator, DX140W-7 wheel excavator and DL420-7 wheel loader. The company will expand its use to more machines and regions.
