Kkanbu Chicken opens first overseas store in Philippines

South Korea's chicken franchise Kkanbu Chicken opened its first overseas branch in Manila's Solaire Resort.

According to the company on Tuesday, the store opened on Oct. 27. Solaire Resort is a large-scale complex entertainment mall with a casino, theater, and luxury shopping mall.

Starting with the first store in Manila, Kkanbu Chicken plans to enter into global restaurant industry including the Philippines. The company aims to boost its brand awareness and strengthen the flavor image of Korean-style chicken through its own recipes, products, and local events.

To increase brand awareness, Kkanbu Chicken plans to engage customers through various marketing initiatives, including DJ parties.

"Considering the growing attention on K-food, especially K-chicken, including the chimaek (fried chicken and beer)’ culture abroad, we plan to expand our territory further from the first Philippine store, allowing more consumers to experience the Kkanbu Chicken brand," a Kkanbu Chicken source said.
