LG Electronics Inc. 's new LG UltraGear gaming monitor is optimized for both performance and design and customized for the world-famous multiplayer online battle arena video game League of Legends (LoL).
LG Electronics on Wednesday said the LG UltraGear Gaming Monitor LoL Edition is a limited edition that applies a design customized for the game to the company’s 27-inch OLED gaming monitor released this year.
LoL is a global phenomenon with around 200 million monthly users and popular continental leagues such as LCK (South Korea), LPL (China), LCS (US) and LEC (Europe). The world championship featuring the top teams from each league will be held in Seoul and Busan this month.
LoL also debuted as an official event at this year’s Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
LG Electronics applied icons symbolizing the characters (champions) appearing in the game and the game logo to the back of the monitor and stand. After turning on the monitor, a user can set the game theme font and design in the screen settings menu.
LG Electronics said the monitor has smooth display of game images with fast screen transitions. Based on OLED’s advantage of self-emitting light, it has a fast response speed of 0.03 millisecond GtG (Gray to Gray) and is the world’s first OLED monitor to support a high refresh rate, or the number of frames per second produced by a computer's video card, of 240Hz.
