LG Elec’s home appliance selected as most reliable brand in US

South Korea's LG Electronics Inc. has been named the most reliable appliance brand by American consumers.

According to Consumer Reports, a leading consumer publication in the US, LG Electronics received the highest score of 76 points among all manufacturers producing all eight products under evaluation, from 2012 to 2022 in "the most reliable appliances brand."

Consumer Reports evaluated reliability based on the failure rates of approximately 528,800 appliances over a five-year period. The products under evaluation included refrigerators, dishwashers, over-the-range microwaves, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, washing machines, and dryers.

In this evaluation, LG Electronics received the highest scores for reliability in four categories:  over-the-range microwaves, cooktops, washing machines, and dryers.

As a result, the company has been recognized as the brand with the highest scores in most categories. The top-ranked brand overall, with a score of 84, is Speed Queen, a US manufacturer that produces washers and dryers only.

In the second place, LG Electronics was evaluated in eight product categories. Thermador, Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove tied for fourth place, Miele ranked sixth, and Bosch, GE and Whirlpool tied for seventh place.

"By receiving evaluations for all eight product categories, we have secured the leading position in terms of comprehensive home appliance brands. This recognition is significant as it surpasses traditional premium built-in brands and positions us at the top," an LG Electronics official said.
