LG Electronics Inc. recently introduced "LG Art Lab," a non-fungible token art trading platform mounted on LG TVs, through a large display board in Times Square, New York.
The company said on Sunday that its LG Art Lab video featuring four non-fungible token media artworks by world-renowned sculptor Barry X Ball caught the attention of visitors to Times Square. With the QR code in the video, mobile phone users can experience the LG Art Lab service on their smartphones.
Beginning Feb. 16, LG OLED TV customers can enjoy or purchase non-fungible token works of artists who realize the unique texture of metal through OLED TVs at LG Art Lab.
LG Art Lab is a service first launched in the US market in September last year by adding a new experience of trading art to enjoying art on TV. In acknowledgment of its differentiated content competitiveness, it was granted an Innovation Award at CES 2023.
LG Electronics has recently been strengthening contents and services with its own operating system called web OS. A typical example is LG Art Lab, where users can enjoy not only viewing non-fungible token artworks handpicked by art experts on LG OLED TVs, but also trading them.
