LG Chem opens European CS Center in Germany

South Korea's top chemical company LG Chem Ltd. announced the opening of its European Customer Solution Center (CS Center) in Frankfurt on Wednesday, in a move aimed at significantly enhancing its support for European clients.

The CS Center is a specialized organization that offers comprehensive technical solutions including product development, quality improvement, and productivity enhancement for customer companies and partners.

Built with an investment of around 50 billion won ($3.76 million), the three-story facility covers a floor area of 7,400 square meters.

The center is furnished with industrial-level manufacturing equipment, such as extruders and injection molding machines, underscoring LG Chem's commitment to supporting clients' production needs.

In addition to automotive materials, the center has a specialized focus on eco-friendly resources like recycled plastics.

LG Chem has stationed dedicated technical staff at the Frankfurt facility to provide comprehensive support, from product development to quality improvement and productivity enhancements.

"The European CS Center will be the center of creativity and innovation to meet customer needs," Vice Chairman and CEO of LG Chem Shin Hak Cheol said during the opening ceremony.

The opening of the European CS Center is part of LG Chem's broader strategy to strengthen its market position in Europe, where it has seen sales grow almost 100-fold since its initial entry in 2005.

With the completion of the European CS Center, LG Chem has now established a customer support system that extends from Korea (Osan) and China (Hwanan, Huadong) to Europe (Germany).

The company plans to complete a CS center in the Americas by 2023, signaling its intent to provide close customer support on a global scale.
