The company announced on Wednesday that it developed an AI-based Smart Color Matching AI System in three years.
The color matching process involves adjusting the type and amount of pigments until the desired color is achieved.
It's the most time-consuming part of developing a makeup product.
It often depends on the experience of the researchers.
The newly developed AI color matching system uses deep learning technology to convert all colors perceivable by the human eye into data.
By quantifying the differences in colors, researchers can predict the colors of new formulations without conducting direct experiments.
The new AI color matching system will first be applied to color-sensitive products like eyeshadows and blushes.
Cosmax plans to gradually extend its application to other makeup categories, such as lipsticks and foundations.
