Genesis GV60 named best SUV in China

Hyundai Motor Co.'s premium brand Genesis announced on Wednesday that its luxury mid-sized electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) GV60 was selected as “2024 SUV of the Year” at the China Car of the Year Awards.

China Car of the Year is an award presented to the winning car launched in China during the year. It’s judged by an independent panel made up of more than 40 automotive journalists and experts.

Among a total of 80 candidates, GV60 emerged as the winner. It surpassed the UK’s Lotus Elentre and China’s Geely Galaxy L7. This is a significant achievement in China, the world's largest electric vehicle (EV) market and once the "graveyard of Korean cars."

Since its debut in 2021, GV60 has received prizes such as German Premium Car of the Year 2023, and Red Dot Product Design Award 2022. It also earned Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the US.

GV60, aligned with Genesis' design identity of "Athletic Elegance," features a sleek design and boasts a range of 645 km on a single charge, based on the Certified Long-term Care standard.
