Genesis unveils redesigned GV80, first-ever GV80 Coupe

Hyundai Motor Co.'s premium brand Genesis on Wednesday unveiled the partially redesigned model of its flagship sports utility vehicle (SUV), the GV80, along with its first-ever coupe SUV, the GV80 Coupe.

The GV80, Genesis's premier SUV, has been a prominent leader in the domestic luxury SUV market since its launch in 2020, surpassing 170,000 units in cumulative sales globally. The partially redesigned model is being showcased approximately 3 years and 9 months after the original GV80's launch.

Genesis maintains the elegance and style of the existing model design while adding luxurious details to enhance its premium feel.

The interior features a horizontal layout, with the driver’s cluster and the central entertainment screen united by a 27-inch integrated wide display.

The engine lineup includes a gasoline 2.5 turbo with a maximum output of 304 horsepower and a maximum torque of 43.0kgf·m and a gasoline 3.5 turbo with a maximum output of 380hp and a maximum torque of 54.0kgf·m.

The GV80 Coupe accentuates dynamic exteriors and focuses on enhanced performance. It also offers reclining functions on the rear seats to elevate passenger comfort.

The engine lineup comprises the existing two types from GV80 and an additional gasoline 3.5 turbo 48V electric supercharger engine from G90, with a maximum output of 415ps and maximum torque of 56.0kgf·m.

The supercharger model is equipped with specialized high-performance specifications, including a Sports Plus driving mode optimized for high-speed driving and Launch Control to maximize start acceleration.
