Hyundai Motor Group has achieved over 100,000 cumulative electric vehicle (EV) sales in the US market since 2014. The group's three brands, Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia, recorded a total of 104,326 retail sales as of Jan. 2023.

According to industry sources on Monday, Hyundai has sold 51,096 EVs since 2017, Genesis sold 1,964 units since the introduction of its first electric vehicle in the US market last year, and Kia has sold 51,266 units since 2014.

The success of Hyundai Motor Group in the US EV market can be attributed to the popularity of models such as the Hyundai Motor Co.'s IONIQ 5, Kia Corp.'s EV6, and Genesis GV60, which have boosted sales in recent years.

The group first entered the US market with the Kia Soul EV in 2014 and later introduced the Hyundai IONIQ EV in 2017, but it was not until the launch of popular small SUVs like the Kia Niro EV and Hyundai Kona Electric that sales started to rise.

In 2021, the introduction of dedicated EVs such as the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia EV6, and Genesis GV60, led to a significant increase in sales, with 58,028 units sold, three times the previous year's figures.

In terms of vehicle type, the IONIQ 5 was the best-selling model with 24,683 units sold, followed by the Niro EV with 23,380 units, the EV6 with 21,608 units, the Kona Electric with 20,560 units, and the Soul EV with 6,728 units.
