Hyundai, Kia cars selected Best Imported Cars in Germany

Hyundai Motor Group was recognized for its overwhelming quality in Germany, which is widely considered the home of automobiles.

Hyundai Motor Group said on Monday that it has won four of the seven car classes in the "2022 Best Imported Cars" published in the latest issue of Auto Bild, a leading German automobile magazine.

Of the vehicles under evaluation last year, Auto Bild named its seven best imported cars in seven classes including small, compact, small sports utility vehicle (SUV), mid-sized SUV, crossover SUV, mid-sized and large-sized.

Of these, four models from the Hyundai Motor Group were named, including the Genesis GV70 EV model (crossover SUV), G80 EV model (large-size), Bayon (CUV) and Cee'd (compact).

"The quiet interior achieved through active road noise control is impressive. Not only does it show top-notch driving performance with two electric motors, but it can also fully use 490 horsepower in a short time through thr boost mode," Auto Bild said of the GV70 EV model.

The G80 EV model was given high marks for "elegant brand representation." 

The magazine wrote of the G80: "The internal combustion engine model has already impressed us with its elegance, quietness, and originality. The G80 EV model can charge from 10% to 80% battery capacity within 22 minutes by mounting the 400 and 800-volt multi-charging system," said the magazine. 

For Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp., European models such as the Bayon and Cee'd were selected together. This is thanks to the companies' efforts to introduce vehicle models optimized for local customer requirements through careful market research.
