Hyundai Motor Co. joined hands with the International Transport Forum under the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to strengthen its role as a leader in future mobility.

The company said on Friday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for joining as a member company of the Corporate Partnership Board (CPB) at its headquarters in Seoul's Yangjae-dong, attended by key officials such as Hyundai Motor Group Vice President Kim Dong-wook and OECD International Transport Forum Secretary-General Kim Young-tae.

The International Transport Forum is an international organization that sets global agendas and leads discussions in various fields such as energy, urban issues, and the environment, as well as transportation policies related to land transport, air transport, and shipping. It has 64 member countries including the US, the UK, France, and South Korea.

The Corporate Partnership Board, which is run by the International Transport Forum to strengthen cooperation with private-sector companies, has about 30 companies across the world undertaking various joint research projects and collaboration on transport policies on a global level.

Under the latest agreement, Hyundai Motor will participate in various global events hosted by the International Transport Forum, such as the Transportation Ministers' Meeting and the International Transport Forum's Corporate Partnership Board Week, over the next three years, to communicate with the forum member countries and the board members.

The company will also maintain close cooperation with the board members and discover cooperation models for future mobility technologies.

"Hyundai Motor is taking the lead in providing innovative mobility experiences to customers beyond the role as an automaker and creating a sustainable future through collaboration with the OECD International Transport Forum," VP Kim Dong-wook said.
