South Korea's Naver Webtoon said on Thursday that its Japanese service operator Line Digital Frontier invested in Number Nine, a webtoon studio in Japan."
This is Naver Webtoon's first investment in an overseas webtoon studio. The size of the deal wasn't disclosed by agreement of both parties.
Founded in 2016, Number Nine started as an e-manga brokerage service. Recently, it has expanded into a webtoon studio.
The webtoons produced by Number Nine are "Savior of Divine Blood" and "I Am the Strongest Transcendent". These two works ranked number 10 on Line Manga in Japan last year.
The two webtoons are available in Korean, English, and French through Naver Webtoon's global service.
