Toray Advanced Materials Korea Inc. announced on Monday the acquisition of Hanmee Entec Co., Ltd., the industry's longest-running water treatment facility operation and maintenance (O&M) company. The deal is expected to be completed within the first half of this year.

Hanmee Entec specializes in the operation and management of sewage and wastewater treatment facilities across the country, with technical capabilities for facility advancement and effluent recycling.

Toray Advanced Materials produces various filter materials, including reverse osmosis membranes. Through this acquisition, it plans to combine material technology with O&M to provide differentiated wastewater operation and management services.

The recycled effluent will be used as industrial or agricultural water, improving water resource management by enhancing effluent water quality. The company aims to upgrade sewage and wastewater treatment facilities based on filter membranes, improving water treatment plant environments by eliminating odors and expanding green spaces on the ground.

"Through this acquisition, we plan to further strengthen ESG management, while continuing to fulfill our environmental and social responsibilities as a corporate citizen," said a company official.
