South Korea's KT Corp. announced on Wednesday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the domestic company Novatek which specializes in robot tech-based logistics automation and security to joint research for developing a logistics automation platform.
Under the agreement, KT and Novatek will enter the domestic manufacturing and warehouse logistics market with a structured, automated logistics system developed through joint efforts.
They also plan to challenge overseas markets by enhancing heterogeneous multi-cluster robot control, advancing artificial intelligence (AI) simulator capabilities, and establishing cloud-based control and analysis systems.
The partnership aims to build a diverse logistics robot portfolio optimized for logistics automation processes, including unmanned forklifts, picking robots, and low-floor robots.
KT and Novatek plan to establish logistics robot test fields at KT's Research and Development Center and Novatek Logistics Center.
