South Korean leading food maker Daesang Corp., the operator of kimchi brand Jongga, said on Thursday it launched San Ho Won with three-Michelin-star Chef Corey Lee.
Corey Lee has two restaurants in San Francisco. He owns Benu, a three Michelin-starred fine dining, and San Ho One, a one-star casual Korean restaurant.
The company explainded that kimchi market in the US is fast growing that it introduced premium kimchi with Corey Lee's San Ho Won.
San Ho One Kimchi comes in two flavors: Original spicy and white. Both come in 680 grams and come in a zippered pouch for easy storage of leftover kimchi in the fridge.
San Ho One Kimchi will be available in major distribution channels such as H-Mart in the US.
South Korea's kimchi exports to the US are expected to be the largest ever this year.
According to Korea Customs Service import and export trade statistics, the volume of kimchi exports to the US was 6,600 tons in the first half of this year, up about 20% year over year.
The share of kimchi exports to the US of Daesang's Jongga reached 75% as of last month.
