South Korea’s major institutional investors and global asset managers will gather at the ASK 2024 global alternative investment conference on Oct. 16-17 to share their outlook for and discuss investment opportunities in private credit, real estate and infrastructure markets.
Kim Tae-hyun, chairman of the National Pension Service (NPS), the world’s No. 3 pension scheme, and Park Il Young, recently appointed as CEO of the Korea Investment Corp (KIC), a sovereign wealth fund, will give keynote speeches on the first day of the largest alternative investment forum in Asia.
It will be Park's debut at an international conference as KIC chief since he was appointed to the post in late September.

The Korea Economic Daily, South Korea's largest business media group, will host the biannual conference at Conrad Seoul in Yeouido.

Kim Soomin, founder and head of private equity firm UCK Partners, will deliver a keynote speech on the topics of private equity and debt on Oct. 16.
The same day, chief investment officers of Hanwha Life Insurance Co., Lotte Non-life Insurance Co. and KBIZ will discuss private equity and credit market investments at a panel session.

GENERAL MANAGERS
Global asset managers will give presentations, or moderate panel discussions to explore new investment areas in the low interest era after the US Federal Reserve cut interest rates by half a percentage point in September.
Kristofer Kraus, managing director and private strategies manager at PIMCO, will speak about “the rise of asset-backed lending in private credit.”

Other asset managers participating in the conference include Permira; General Atlantic; Oaktree Capital Management; Lexington Partners, a unit of Franklin Templeton; PAG; Nuveen; Sculptor Capital Management; Round Hill Capital; and BGO.
