Lotte Home Shopping expands Japan tour packages

South Korea's Lotte Home Shopping said on Tuesday that it will expand its range of travel packages to Japan, including trips to Kyushu and Okinawa, amid rising demand fueled by the yen's weakness.

According to the latest AirPortal Aviation statistics from the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, Japan was the most visited country by South Korean travelers in the first quarter of this year.

According to data from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport’s Air Portal, Japan emerged as the top destination for South Korean travelers in the first quarter.

Lotte Home Shopping reported a more than 40% increase in orders for Japanese travel products over the same period last year, with sales of Hokkaido travel packages quadrupling.

In response to the sustained interest, the retailer now offers Japanese travel products weekly across various channels, including TV and mobile platforms.

On April 19, the mobile TV channel Llive will air the Busan-Shimonoseki Bukan Ferry Boarding Pass, featuring live scenes of the ferry's art museum-themed facilities and views of Busan at night.

Lotte Home Shopping will also launch a three-day Kyushu package on April 21, covering well-known small towns like Beppu and Yufuin, followed by a four-day trip to Okinawa on April 26.

The company plans to introduce a range of products, including a six-country South American travel package and various travel luggage options.
