Japanese travelers top list of reservations to visit Seoul during BTS Festa
The number of overseas travelers visiting S.Korea during the BTS Festa increased by 13% compared to the same period last month

Trip.com, a South Korean travel platform, announced on Wednesday that the most frequent overseas travelers to Seoul during the “BTS Festa” commemorating the 10th anniversary of the group's debut (from June 12 to June 25) are Japanese travelers.
According to Trip.com reservations, the number of overseas travelers visiting Korea during the BTS Festa increased by 13% compared to the same period last month. Compared to the two weeks before the Festa period, it increased by 4.5%.
During the BTS Festa, the country of the people who visited Korea the most was Japan, followed by China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Macau, the US, Australia and Vietnam.
The area with the highest accommodation reservation rate in Seoul was Jung-gu, where Myeong-dong is located, followed by Mapo-gu, Gangnam-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, and Jongno-gu.
"The Korean Wave is increasing interest in Korea and Seoul among travelers around the world. We will actively promote various cultural events in Korea through Trip. com to lead overseas travelers to visit," said Hong Jong-min, head of Trip.com’s Korean branch.
