SK Telecom launches cloud cost management platform

South Korea's SK Telecom Co. on Wednesday announced the launch of Cloud Radar 2.0, its next-generation cloud management platform that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to assist companies in reducing their cloud service costs.

The AI-based platform offers insights into real-time cloud expenditure and usage patterns, pinpointing areas for potential savings.

One of the standout features of Cloud Radar 2.0 is its ability to scrutinize pay-as-you-go cloud fees and contract details, paving the way for contractual recommendations that can lead to significant discounts of up to 72%.

Additionally, it deletes services deemed as unused cloud resources and provides an optimal capacity recommendation feature for excessively set cloud resources.

Such services are based on the complexity of the product structure and cost calculation systems for cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and MS Azure.

For companies, it's challenging to determine if the costs are reasonable and what the suitable discount conditions are based on their usage.

Highlighting the platform's efficacy, preliminary trials by SK Telecom with select clientele indicated an impressive average cost reduction of 37.2%.
