LG Uplus to hold job fair in Los Angeles

South Korea's LG Uplus Corp. on Thursday said it will hold the recruiting event LG Uplus US Fair at the hotel Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey near Los Angeles from Saturday to Sunday.

Through this job fair, the company seeks outstanding global talent including holders or students of master's or doctorate degrees from major American universities such as UCLA, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech.

Jobseekers will include whose who majored in electrical-electronics engineering, communications, computer science, industrial engineering, statistics and psychology. The event will look for talented human resources in artificial intelligence (AI), software development, autonomous driving and the metaverse, especially holders of an MBA.

Beginning in July, participants were selected through document screening, coding tests and initial online interview.

Technology-related figures to attend include LG Uplus' Chief Human Resource Officer Yang Hyo-suk, Chief Technology Officer Lee Sang-yup, who supervises the advancement of technical capacity for new businesses such as the metaverse, and Chief Data Officer Hwang Kyu-byul, who leads AI development. Key executives will also appear.

"Our recruitment of top overseas talent used to be done at the LG Tech Conference, where each affiliate gathers under the supervision of LG Group," a company source said. "From this year, however, LG Uplus will independently start recruiting outstanding global talent and hold this fair in the US every year starting with this event."
