South Korean telecom operator KT Corp. announced on Wednesday that it has signed a business agreement with parking control system specialist Amano Korea to collaborate in the smart parking business. The two companies will jointly develop integrated video control services that combine parking and security.
The smart parking system uses technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data and cloud to improve parking efficiency and enhance user convenience, including payment.
The partnership will combine KT's AI, cloud, space and safety digital technologies such as video analysis and conversation processing with Amano Korea's parking system to develop advanced smart parking solutions.
"We will create synergies based on the know-how of both companies to lead the next-generation smart parking market," said Lee Sung-hwan, head of Customer Headquarters at KT West.
The CEO of Amano Korea, Jeon Myung-jin, also expressed his commitment to expanding eco-friendly smart parking lots across the country through cooperation with KT.
