South Korea's POSCO Holdings Inc. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for comprehensive industry-academia collaboration with Seoul National University on Monday at the POSCO Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

The signing ceremony was attended by executives and senior officials from both parties, including POSCO Group Chairman Choi Jeong-Woo and Seoul National University President Ryu Hong-Lim.

Under the terms of the agreement, POSCO Group plans to leverage its venture platform to connect Seoul National University's outstanding research outcomes with entrepreneurship and assist in commercialization through venture fund investments.

Additionally, POSCO Group has joined hands with the university for joint research and development in core business areas and talent development.

The group will consider running open collaborative research projects involving Seoul National University professors and students across various areas of its core business. It will also establish a scholarship program for master's and doctoral students, linking it to hiring opportunities within the POSCO Group.

"We will actively invest in and commercialize Seoul National University's excellent technologies, striving to nurture companies that will lead the future of Korea," Choi said. "POSCO Group will recruit top-notch talent from around the world to become a leading eco-friendly future materials company and increase research and development investments."
