Kumho Petrochemical Co. said on Tuesday that its four synthetic rubber products including SSBR, HBR, LBR, and NdBR have earned International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification, an international eco-friendly recognition.
ISCC PLUS is an international certification that verifies eco-friendliness and sustainability in all processes from raw material purchase to production and sales based on the EU's renewable energy guidelines.
Kumho Petrochemical is contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by using bio, renewable, and recycled raw materials rather than fossil fuels. In the future, the company plans to expand certification to other product groups including NB latex.
"With the ISCC PLUS certification as momentum, we will speed up building up a sustainable product portfolio. We will also continue to promote ESG management," said Baek Jong-hoon, CEO of Kumho Petrochemical.
