Moonbin, a member of K-pop group Astro, has died, South Korean police said on Thursday.
According to the police and the music industry, his manager found Moonbin dead at his home in Seoul the previous night.
The police suspect that Moonbin committed suicide because there were no criminal charges such as signs of murder.
“Astro’s member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky,” the agency Fantagio said in a notice posted on its official fan café. “Astro members, fellow artists and employees of Fantagio, who have been together for a long time, are deeply mourning him in great sadness and shock.”
Moonbin, who debuted in the music industry with the group Astro in 2016, has been a main dancer and sub-vocalist.
He also formed a unit Moonbin & Sanha and released its third album “INCENSE” in January this year. His sister is Moon Soo-ah of K-pop girl group Billie.
