You can now buy a Hyundai on Amazon.
You read that right. You can buy a vehicle on the same site where you purchase dinosaur balloons and roller skates, all from the comfort of your home.
And the best part of Amazon Autos? You won’t have to break down a car-sized box when you get it because you’ll pick up your Hyundai vehicle at the automaker’s dealer of your choice.
Hyundai Motor America, the US affiliate of South Korea’s top automaker Hyundai Motor Co., said on Wednesday it is now selling cars directly on Amazon, including popular electric vehicles such as the 2025 model of the IONIQ 5, the IONIQ 6 sedan and the soon-to-be-launched IONIQ 9.

Hyundai Motor is the first and only car brand to enable direct vehicle purchases through Amazon Autos. This allows US customers to browse, order and finance new Hyundai cars online.
The company said the service is available at 54 select Hyundai dealers across the US, including in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles, and plans to expand throughout the year.
Amazon revealed plans to extend into vehicle sales in 2023, starting with Hyundai. After making it official at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai has now begun selling its vehicles on the platform.

TRANSPARENT, HAGGLE-FREE
Hyundai said the program features transparent, haggle-free pricing, seamless vehicle trade-ins, and familiar Amazon shopping features. Customers can select their preferred car, secure financing, complete paperwork online and schedule pickup at participating dealerships.
“At Hyundai, we put the customer at the center of everything we do, and we are always looking for ways to improve the vehicle purchasing experience,” said José Muñoz, chief executive of Hyundai Motor.
Having spent 10 years as the head of Hyundai's and Nissan Motor’s American operations, he became the Korean automaker’s first non-Korean CEO as of Jan. 1.

“We're thrilled to be the first brand enabling our dealers to sell vehicles through Amazon Autos. It represents the future of automotive retail and our commitment to redefining how cars are marketed and purchased,” he said.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Muñoz said the Amazon online sale will “reduce the time it takes to purchase a car to about 15 minutes.”
According to the news outlet, Hyundai expects that by the late 2020s, sales through such online platforms will account for 30% of its total sales in the US.

QUALIFY FOR EV TAX CREDIT
To support the launch, Hyundai is rolling out a comprehensive marketing campaign featuring TV ads, digital content and social media initiatives highlighting the convenience of the “Add to Cart” experience.
The new IONIQ 5 2025 model starts at $42,500. With a bigger 84 kWh battery, the updated model has a driving range of 318 miles, up from 303 miles in the outgoing IONIQ 5. It also has an NACS port, so it can be charged at Tesla Superchargers.

After kicking off production at its new EV plant in Georgia late last year, Hyundai’s electric vehicles now qualify for the $7,500 EV tax credit in the US.
Hyundai Motor America’s operations include its North American headquarters in California, the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama assembly plant, the all-new Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) and several cutting-edge R&D facilities.
