South Korea's Samyang Foods Co. said on Wednesday it launched the new export-only ramyun brand Mep in Thailand.
Mep is the second brand for the overseas market. In June last year, Samyang Foods released Tangle, its first instant noodle only for export.
The company signed a strategic partnership agreement with CP ALL, the distribution affiliate of CP Group, Thailand's largest conglomerate.
Samyang Foods launched its Mep products at the local 7-Eleven, operated by CP ALL.
The company plans to introduce various Mep products to all 14,000 7-Eleven stores in Thailand and other countries.
The overseas exports in the first three quarters of this year accounted for 77% of Samyang Food's total sales.
The company's proportion of overseas exports is expected to exceed 80% for the first time.
