The company held a completion ceremony for the facility at the site on Sunday.
In 2022, POSCO International and Hancock Prospecting jointly acquired Senex Energy, outlining plans to triple its annual natural gas production to 60 petajoules (PJ)—equivalent to 1.2 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Senex Energy aims to complete its production expansion by late 2025.
The project includes drilling 280 production wells, constructing three gas processing facilities, and installing gas pipelines.
The second and third facilities are set to become operational by late 2025, enabling the company to achieve its ambitious production targets.
POSCO International projects it will supply more than 10% of eastern Australia’s domestic gas demand by 2026.
