CJ Logistics opens cold-chain logistics center in Georgia

South Korea's CJ Logistics said on Thursday that it completed the construction of a large-scale cold-chain logistics center in the US and has begun operations.

Located in Gainesville, Georgia, the 24,904-square-meter facility is a multifunctional logistics hub that manages temperatures customized for stored products.

Around 90% of the space is dedicated to cold-chain logistics for refrigerated and frozen goods, with the remaining area allocated for ambient storage.

The facility includes a US Department of Agriculture (USDA)-certified inspection lab and rapid freezing systems to ensure product quality.

The center is strategically positioned near major transportation routes, including the Norfolk Southern Railway and key highways.

Once the Northeast Georgia Inland Port, currently under construction near Gainesville, is completed, the facility will connect to the Port of Savannah, expanding its transportation network.

CJ Logistics targets the North American logistics market. It's also constructing a 27,000-square-meter cold-chain logistics center in New Century, Kansas, which is expected to begin operations in the third quarter of 2025.
