Kia Corp., the second-largest automaker in South Korea, is introducing an improved model of its first-ever all-electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) EV6, three years after its initial launch.
Kia unveiled on Thursday the silhouette and front/rear lamp designs through a teaser image titled The New EV6.
The New EV6 features daytime running lights (DRL) reflecting Star-map Signature Lighting, providing a more dynamic and futuristic feel.
The EV6, based on Hyundai Motor Group's electric vehicle-specific platform E-GMP, has been highly acclaimed for its design and electrification capabilities as Kia's first dedicated electric vehicle.
Since its initial launch in Aug. 2021, it has received accolades such as European Car of the Year in 2022 and North American Car of the Year in 2023, the first for a South Korean brand.
The high-performance version EV6 GT won the 2023 World Car Awards by winning World Performance Car.
Kia plans to unveil specific product information including the design, detailed specifications, and enhanced features of The New EV6 later this month.
