The Polestar 4 electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) coupe is set to make its debut in South Korea in June and targets deliveries from October, Swedish electric vehicle maker Polestar said on Friday.

The company’s fastest mass-produced EV so far, which can go from zero to 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour in 3.8 seconds, is Polestar’s second model in South Korea. The EV manufacturer is currently selling only the Polestar 2 electric performance fastback in the market.

“The Polestar 4 is an all-around premium EV with outstanding commercial values in various aspects such as design, performance, sustainability, safety, spaciousness and ADAS,” said Jason Ham, managing director of Polestar Automotive Korea, the EV maker’s wholly owned unit in the country, referring to its advanced driving assistance system.

Polestar plans to manufacture the electric SUV coupe at Renault Group’s manufacturing plant in South Korea from the second half of 2025.

RANGE OF UP TO 610 KM

The Polestar 4 equipped with 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion batteries can preliminarily drive up to 610 km with a single charge on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) standard, which determines the range of EVs.

The model is built on the sustainable experience architecture (SEA) platform, a modular EV platform developed by Swedish-based China Euro Vehicle Technology AB owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., which is Polestar’s major shareholder.

It removes a rear window while installing a rear-facing HD camera, which provides a wider, unobstructed rearward view. That increases space for backseat passengers and maximizes its aerodynamic features, Polestar said.

The D-segment vehicle is 4,839 millimeters (15 feet 11 inches) long, 2,008 mm wide, 1,534 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,999 mm.
