The Q.TRON series incorporates Hanwha Q Cells' proprietary high-efficiency tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) cell manufacturing technology Q.ANTUM NEO, which increases power generation efficiency by about 1% compared to conventional passivated emitter rear contact (PERC) cells by creating a reflective layer on the back of the cell.
The Q.ANTUM NEO technology enables the Q.TRON series to increase its maximum output to 630 Watts-peak (Wp), which is about 25 Watts (W) higher than existing modules of the same area.
Hanwha Q Cells has previously pioneered the mass production of PERC cells and modules and is now the first Korean company to launch a TOPCon module, the Q.TRON.
The Q.TRON also boasts its long-term reliability and durability under various weather conditions, surpassing existing and competitor products, according to Hanwha.
By reducing the efficiency degradation rate compared to existing products that use P-type wafers, the lifespan of the product is enhanced.
The efficiency degradation rate of Q.TRON is at the industry's lowest level, at 0.33% annually, which is lower than the average of 0.4% for other companies' N-type TOPCon modules, allowing for higher power generation and profits over the long term.
