POSCO Future M included in DJSI Asia Pacific Index

South Korea’s battery materials maker POSCO Future M Co. announced on Tuesday that it was listed on Dow Jones Sustainability Asia/Pacific Index 2023 for the first time.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index, published annually by S&P Global, is a sustainability index that evaluates companies on economic performance as well as environmental, social, and governance aspects.

This index is used globally by investors to make responsible investment decisions.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Asia/Pacific Index, which POSCO Future M has now joined, represents the top 20% of companies in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management among 600 leading companies in the Asia and Pacific region.

Additionally, POSCO Future M has been included in the DJSI Korea for the second consecutive year, placing it in the top 30% of South Korea's 200 major companies.

POSCO FutureM is expanding its greenhouse gas management scope to include not only direct and indirect emissions (scopes 1 and 2) but also other indirect emissions (scope 3), encompassing its entire value chain.

This comprehensive approach is crucial for achieving its ambitious goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.

The company has published a corporate citizenship report and an ESG policy book that contains its ESG management performance.

Additionally, the company is enhancing its supply chain management by sourcing responsibly mined minerals for its key production materials, anode and cathode, ensuring these are certified free of human rights abuses.
