South Korea’s Daesang Corp. announced on Tuesday that its global food brand O’food launched two new chicken dipping sauces Swicy (sweet and spicy) Gochujang, and Smoky K-BBQ.
The company explained that these new sauces were developed to bring the taste of Korean-style fried chicken to the global market in response to the increasing popularity of K-food.
The soybean sauce-based Smoky K-BBQ is perfect for dipping steak, hot dogs, and pizza, the company said.
These new sauces are packaged in tubes, which is the standard packaging format for table sauces in Western countries.
Daesang has identified sauces as one of its four global strategic categories, alongside kimchi, gim (roasted salted seaweed), and ready meals. The company is developing sauces that incorporate Korean traditional ingredients.
According to market research firm Euromonitor, the global dipping sauce and table sauce market reached about $68 billion in 2022.
