LG Electronics Inc. announced on Wednesday it will supply the webOS content platform for the redesigned GV80 and GV80 Coupe under the premium Genesis brand of Hyundai Motor Co.
The operating system allows drivers of the revamped GV80 and GV80 Coupe to enjoy YouTube and streaming services such as Netflix on the move in real time.
The infotainment platform will likely be built in other models of vehicles to be produced by Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia Corp.
LG Electronics’ webOS is installed in about 200 million units of LG Smart TVs worldwide.

With the in-vehicle webOS, drivers can enjoy various TV content on the move without difficulty.
“Including the webOS that provides in-car entertainment customer experience, we will continue to unveil new vehicle component solutions for both drivers and passengers,” said Eun Seokhyun, vice president of vehicle component solutions at LG Electronics.
